Slightly sad... but true  When I was 10 and most lads were chasing footballs and watching Top of the Pops, I was taking photographs with an old range finder camera I was meant to be collecting for a jumble sale.

While my mates were mending their Raleigh Choppers in their mum’s kitchens, I was building a complete darkroom in my parents’ attic. I even kitted it out with a Russian-made Zenith enlarger. 

No surprise then that I started out as a professional commercial and advertising photographer in 1982, when I left Salisbury College of Art. Within a couple of years I launched Photoworks. 

As you can probably tell, I’m a photography propeller head.
